RRB JE Recruitment 2026: Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs), under the Ministry of Railways, Government of India, has released the official CEN No. 04/2026 notification for recruitment to various Junior Engineer (JE) and Depot Material Superintendent (DMS) posts. A total of 3,993 vacancies have been announced across different Railway Zones and Production Units. Eligibility Criteria for RRB JE Recruitment 2026

Educational Qualification

Candidates must possess the prescribed educational, technical or professional qualification from a recognized University or Institution on or before 13 September 2026. Candidates awaiting their final qualifying examination results are not eligible.

The notification specifically states that the DMS post requires a three-year Diploma in Engineering in any discipline, while higher qualifications such as B.E./B.Tech are acceptable in lieu of the prescribed diploma in the same discipline.

For Junior Engineer posts, the required discipline varies according to the post. For example, prescribed qualifications include Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Civil, Information Technology, Communication, Computer Science and other relevant engineering disciplines.

Age Limit

The age limit for RRB JE Recruitment 2026 will be calculated as on 01 January 2027. The prescribed basic age group is 18 to 33 years.

Age Relaxation

The notification also contains separate age provisions for eligible serving Railway staff, quasi-administrative Railway employees and certain women candidates. Age relaxation is generally not cumulative and the applicable conditions in the CEN must be followed.

Application Fee

For candidates paying ₹500, ₹400 will be refunded, after applicable bank charges, on appearing in the 1st Stage CBT. Candidates paying ₹250 will receive a refund of the fee, after applicable bank charges, on appearing in the 1st Stage CBT.

The examination fee can be paid through Internet Banking, Debit/Credit Card or UPI. No other payment mode is provided.

Salary Details

All notified Junior Engineer and Depot Material Superintendent posts under this CEN are placed at Pay Level 6, with an initial pay of ₹35,400.

Selection Process

The selection process for RRB JE Recruitment 2026 includes:
